Conveyor Belt COF Tester

ISO 21182 specifies methods for determining the static and dynamic coefficient of friction (COF) of light conveyor belts. A conveyor belt COF tester is used to evaluate the frictional behavior of conveyor belt surfaces by measuring the resistance between a standardized metallic sled and the belt material under controlled testing conditions.

Testing is typically performed on both the carrying surface and the running surface of light conveyor belts. According to ISO 21182, both static friction (break-away force) and dynamic friction (sliding force) can be determined under controlled speed and loading conditions. The resulting data helps manufacturers, quality control laboratories, and end users compare belt materials, verify product consistency, support product development, and ensure compliance with industry specifications.
